THE RITE OF CHRISTIAN INITIATION OF ADULTS
BECOMING A CATHOLIC
RITE OF CHRISTIAN INITATION OF ADULTS
Have you been attending St. Kilian Church with your Catholic spouse, with your fiancée or with a friend? Have you felt drawn to the Catholic Faith or wanted to know more about it? Have you wondered whether you should be a Catholic? Have you thought God might be leading you on a spiritual journey to the Catholic Church? If the answer to any of these questions is “yes”, then we invite you to participate in a process called the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults, or RCIA. This process provides several stages of faith formation for individuals who are seeking baptism in the Catholic Church, and those who have been baptized in other Christian traditions who wish to explore the Catholic faith as a way to deepen their relationship with Christ, through sacraments and community. The adult faith journey is respected and validated in an atmosphere of hospitality and welcome. The time for preparation varies depending upon the person’s baptismal status, previous religious instruction, and other factors. For more information please contact the Parish Office at 949/586-4440.
